NVSR 2023 Annual Report
Click here to read the Annual Report for 2023. We're happy to report that NVSR continues to be in a strong financial position and has expanded our leadership team.
This year, we saw an uptick in intake numbers and continued strong donations. Vet bills continue to increase, and we spend more than four times more on vet bills than we collect in adoption fees. We might spend thousands on one dog to bring him or her up to as healthy a condition as possible. Also, our seniors that take a long time to place can be costly. We couldn't do it without our loyal donors! Many donors sustain us with regular monthly contributions - very much appreciated! Please continue to help us take good care of all our Shelties. We appreciate every dollar we get - every one is used for the benefit of our Shelties. Thank you so much!! |
Pictures from our 25th Anniversary Picnic Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Curtis Memorial Park, Hartwood VA NVSR has been rescuing Shelties, over 1,500 of them, for 25 years! We had a great gathering at special picnic celebrating our 25th year of saving Shelties....1,500 of them and counting. Our dogs, volunteers, and visitors met new friends, played games, got doggie massages, ate all kinds of yummies, and bought calendars. We're so grateful for all the hard work on the part of our volunteers who planned, set up, and took down everything to make it another memorable event! |
We were at the 2023 Scottish Walk in Old Town Alexandria VA and will attend again in December 7, 2024 We love this event! With the Potomac Valley Shetland Sheepdog Club, we showed off our Shelties, wore our tartans and holiday garb and enjoyed all the sights and sounds of beautiful Old Town Alexandria. Bagpipes and drums, clans and lots of Scottish dogs. Our Shelties are the most beautiful, of course, and the crowd loves them. We can hear them in the distance: "Here come the Shel-teez!" Here are photos of the fun. |
